Sun Pictures and Dhanush, whose ‘Aadukalam’ is doing well in the Pongal race, will have their next release together in April. It is ‘Mappillai’, a remake of a yesteryear Rajinikanth blockbuster of the same title.
“Gear up for ‘Mappillai’ next. Completely opposite genre to my recent release (‘Aadukalam’). It is an April release,” the Mappillai of the Superstar says with optimism.
Directed by Suraj, the film has Hansika Motwani as heroine and Manisha Koirala as the all-powerful mother-in-law. “Though the original script is racy, necessary changes have been made for the present day audience,” says the director.
Dhanush is currently busy with ‘Vengai’, his first outing with ‘commercial specialist’ Hari. For the film, he has made some changes to the chain of the rudraksh he wears. “I have changed the chain into a long one for ‘Vengai’.
